The Weekend would not be complete without the 41st Annual Old Port Festival on Sunday, June 8. Enjoy six stages of live music, family activities, and an array of food and Maine-made arts and crafts. The Festival begins with the Shoe String Theatre's foot-powered parade at 11am!
Galleries and Museums open for free and artists and performers take to the street for a special festival edition of Portland's First Friday Artwalk. From 6-9pm Congress Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Longfellow Square to Monument Square, creating a pedestrian only zone for artists and art walkers. In addition to an eclectic array of performers throughout the length of Congress Street, the Circus Conservatory of America presents two shows of Circus in the Square in Monument Square.
During the First Friday Art Walk, the Circus Conservatory of America presents two shows of Circus in the Square. Circus Atlantic Students, along with aerialists, and the spectacular Red Trouser street artists will perform in Monument Square (5PM & 7PM). On Saturday, the CCA presents two lunchtime shows (Noon & 2PM) of Circus in the Park. Bring a picnic to Lincoln Park and enjoy the spectacle or take part in a Circus Class demo.
Join us at KeyBank in Monument Square on Saturday, June 7 at 11 am to take part in a Downtown Scavenger Hunt. Download the free Social Scavenger Hunt app to play the game by completing challenges at local downtown businesses. The app keeps track of the total points scored and the highest scoring players have the chance to win great prizes, including tickets to the skybox at an upcoming Sea Dogs baseball game!
From 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, June 7th, come on down to Walk the Working Waterfront in downtown Portland.
From Maine State Pier to Becky’s Diner, take a few minutes – or a few hours – to stretch your
legs, peek into some businesses, and learn more about what makes this historic, dynamic waterfront such a vital part of our economy.
The Casco Bay Eye is a 90' gondola wheel operated by Smokey's Greater Rides and located outside of DiMillo's Restaurant along the waterfront. Come enjoy the spectacular views of Casco Bay before heading off to explore all that the Old Port Festival Weekend has to offer! Click for schedule and ticket information.
